- SGS Thomson makes the Modem Analog Front End chip (analog/digital
- and digital/analog converters and filters, etc) that goes with a
- Motorola DSP/microprocessor chip to make a datapump. ST designed
- its chip; I believe that Moto designed both its chip and the
- firmware on that chip. The part numbers in question are ST7544
- and MC68356.
